Farm's Best Food Industries Sdn. Bhd.
was incorporated on 25th November 1989. It is a fully owned subsidiary of Farm’s Best Berhad, one of the largest poultry integrators in Malaysia. Farm’s Best Food Industries is a key company in the group’s poultry integration business.The group comprises a feed mill, parent stock farms and hatcheries, broiler contract farming, and live broiler marketing company as well as a poultry processing factory.

Farm's Best Food Industries Sdn. Bhd. commenced operations in January 1996 after completing its RM50 million poultry and further processing plant at its 8½ acre site at Lot 37 & 38, Masjid Tanah Industrial Estate, 78300 Masjid Tanah, Melaka, Malaysia.

The processing plant has a built-up area of over 8,000 sq. ft. with facilities for poultry processing, further processing and warehousing of frozen products. The processing layout is based on a linear flow concept which involves complete separation of clean and dirty areas to prevent cross contamination. The poultry processing line has a capacity of 4,500 birds per hour and is capable of processing 70,000 birds per day. The products are processed and stored in a temperature controlled environment to ensure product quality. They are transported to the distribution centres or customers in the Company's  own fleet of dedicated refrigerated trucks.

The plant is also designed for resource recovery. It is equipped with a rendering plant to convert poultry waste like feathers, inedible offal and blood to useful offal-meal and feather-meal. Wastewater from the plant is treated in a fully automated wastewater treatment plant before discharge.

The "FARM'S BEST" brand for poultry and further processed products was officially launched on 5th December 1995. The products are now available at all major supermarkets and hypermarkets throughout Malaysia. The company is also a major supplier to many food processors, hotels and restaurants. Products range from antibiotic residue-free chicken, chicken parts and boneless chicken meat, to further processed products like frankfurters, nuggets, burgers, meatballs and many more. All FARM'S BEST products are halal and veterinary inspected.
 
A HISTORY OF EXCELLENCE

The Company obtained ISO 9002:1994 certification in 1999 and became the first poultry processor in the country to achieve such certification. The plant practices GMP and HACCP systems in food production and is regularly audited by the Department of Veterinary Services, Malaysia. The Company is also one of the few poultry processors accredited by the AVA of Singapore as an exporter to the island republic. At present, Farm's Best Food Industries Sdn Bhd is in the process of constructing another Further Processing Plant with the aim of meeting the latest food safety requirements and legislation for both domestic and export markets.

Clear separation of work areas, defined as Low Risk, Medium Risk and High Risk, will be in place at the new plant. Each Risk area will have its own air flow, drainage and personnel entrances, among others. Building materials and surfaces will conform to standards of cleanability to ensure the highest level of hygiene. Corners, angles, grooves or crevices will be carefully designed to prevent dirt build-up. Food safety requirements such as control of entry of loose items and allergens, traceability, cleaning and sanitizing systems, disinfection before entry of materials such as ingredients, packaging, tools and other articles, will be in place. To improve product quality, facilities for quick freezing and various packaging capabilities will be provided.

With the establishment of the new plant, Farm's Best Food Industries will leverage on its core competencies and extend on the resource recovery concept of maximizing the utilization of its primary products by value-adding through heat treatment and full-cooked processing. Besides improving on food safety to meet international standards and acceptance, emphasis will also be placed on convenience and enhanced shelf life for all products. In addition to that, the new plant will provide a channel to increase product variety. The various products that can be processed in the new plant will be:

  • blanched or steamed products
  • grilled products
  • fried formed and bone-in products
  • sausages
